The Loop - Creative Branding Strategy

Overview

In my Creativity & Communication course, we were assigned a massive final project where we had to come up with our own brand/company idea, create a 3-month marketing strategy for the brand’s launch, design a branding suite and all promotional materials included in the strategy, and present the finished work to the class.

For the first phase of the project, each of the 35 students in the class had to present a brief 2-minute pitch of their business idea to the class in a creative, persuasive manner. Each student then voted on the best business ideas. The top 5 were chosen, and the class was then divided into 5 groups to finish the bulk of the project.

What is The Loop?

The Loop is a mobile app that connects college students with local businesses, new experiences, and great deals within Bloomington.

  • Find budget-friendly dining & drinking options for EVERY day

  • Discover local events & experiences

  • Share experiences with your Loop

  • Save upcoming events to a calendar

Target Market: College students in the Bloomington area looking to save money, explore new opportunities in their local area, and socialize with other students

Mission Statement: “We’re here to enhance the college students’ experience in Bloomington while helping local businesses resonate more with the college community.”

  • foster relationships with hyperlocal, university-centric news outlets (ids, the tab, etc.) to publish about brand launch
